Aloha! My name is Gianna and I am the student photographer running this website. I am a freshman in high school in North America. Before reading the rest of this, you should know that I am very talkative, so be prepared for lots of information!
A few things I love other than photography include archery, music, language/linguistics and culture, and any form of art. If I'm not with a camera, you can often find me playing some kind of stringed instrument or singing. And, if I'm not doing that, I'm studying/learning another language! I love studying language and linguistics so much that I hope to become a hyperpolyglot in the future!
I am in between a beginning and intermediate photographer, at the time of this post. I took a photography and photoshop course in middle school as well as being part of the yearbook staff before taking my current Photography 1 class in high school. Because of this, I do have some experience with photography and editing using Photoshop. Other than taking photography in school, I have also been doing photography and videography since I was itty-bitty. My family has a long line of photographers, each specializing in their own favorite subjects to capture. Since I have been exposed to and worked with such a variety of different photography, I have yet to figure out specifically what I love capturing most.
Going along with that last bit of information, here are some examples of images I enjoy capturing!

As you can see, I love working with macro photography, specifically revolving around nature. I had sat down in front of a lavender plant full of bees with my camera and was determined to get a good photo... I am so glad I did! This photo is one of my favorite pictures from last year.

I also like working with astrophotography when I can! I am one to love astronomy and stargazing, so trying to capture that beauty is always fun.

And, last but not least, portrait photography. I enjoy making dramatic photos with friends when possible, just like the image above.
Although those may seem like old or outdated photos, I do have one fairly recent photo that I consider to be my best, so far...

This photo is by far my favorite, at the moment. I love the beautiful scenery I was able to capture in this image; all the saturated shades of blue and green adding up to one lush scene. This photo was taken near the peak of the Hawai'i Loa Ridge Trail Hike in O'ahu, Hawai'i. I consider it to be my best as I was able to capture such a beautiful image. I really love the way this photo looks and the feelings it can convey to those who see it. If you pay attention to the fine details, you may be able to notice and make out housing and buildings right before the shore line. I did do some touch up's to this photo using Adobe Lightroom such as enhancing the saturation and contrast to really make the image pop... but other than that, this is Hawai'i's natural beauty! I think it's absolutely gorgeous!
Just like any photographer, I do have an area I wish to improve on...

And that would be portrait/people photography. Although I have taken photography and been on my school's yearbook staff, before, I still feel as though there is still some - much needed - room for improvement with my people-related photography.
I would love to improve upon my photography skills overall, specifically improving upon my technique. I would also like to become better organized with my photography, and that includes updating this website, along with keeping up to date on my photography Instagram account.
I am honored to be taking you along on my photography journey! I hope you stay safe and have a wonderful day. Much aloha!
