Aloha friends and welcome (back) to my website! :)

Wow, it’s been a while since we’ve been here!.. but I’m alive; I’m back! And I’m happy to inform you that I’m here to post my updated works!

How to start… how to start… I guess I’ll begin by reintroducing myself!

Hi! I’m Gianna and I am still a photography student in high school. However, I am now in an advanced photography class and am 2 years older than when we last spoke! (Yeah, I can’t believe it’s been that long, either!) I still really enjoy various hobbies within the artistic field, not just photography. Of course, photography is still a major one. I also still love studying languages and linguistics so one of my strengths is communicating. I believe photography itself is a form of communication, so it makes sense I enjoy it, haha.

Anyways, I hope through documenting my work throughout this school year, you can tag along and watch my growth as both a photographer and a person. I also hope that you can learn a few things here and there!

Without further ado, let’s get into some of my best photos at the moment!

To start off, I’d like to reintroduce you to some of the types of photos I enjoy capturing.

If you’ve been on my website before, you’ve probably seen that first photo, before! (If not, maybe go take the time to check out my Ahh, Now I Know D.O.F! *Insert Creativity Here* post! ;) ).

I chose this image as one of my three images to showcase what kinds of photos I enjoy taking because it displays a raw and unfiltered moment. To briefly summarize the background of the taking of this photo, I had gone on a sunset hike, and at the top was what I presumed to be a couple. The man had brought his guitar all the way up the mountain, and by the time I had reached the top, he was playing his guitar and singing to the woman he was with. It was a very relaxing moment.

But anyhow, I wanted to showcase that I enjoy taking natural photos; photos that aren’t posed or planned… there just so happens to be an opportunity to take a good shot, and I go for it!

The second image is one of my new puppy, Koko! I chose this to demonstrate how I enjoy taking photos of pets and other animals, as well as nature. This photo might not be the most “wow!” type of photo, but I just love how cute my sweet little puppy is, in it!

And finally out of the three images I chose to showcase the types of photos I enjoy taking, I chose to show a group portrait I had taken of the people in one of my classes from last school year. Ever since my photography class had the assignment of taking senior homeroom portraits, I’ve really enjoyed experimenting with group portraiture.

Now, I’d like to show you my favorite photo, at the moment, I’ve taken.

This is a photo of the singer/songwriter Bishop Briggs. Back in May of this year, Bishop Briggs had put on a concert at my school because my school had won a Vans shoe designing contest. During the performance, I was able to go right up to her stage to take photos, and this is my favorite shot I got. I like how genuinely happy she looks in the photo, as well as the not-too-distracting background.

Finally, this image is what I chose to showcase what kinds of photos I want to do more of. You’ll notice it’s of the same person as my best photo! It came from the same event, haha! Anywho, I’d like to take more concert photography, if given the chance, but also just event photography in general; capturing all the little moments in the big events.

I do plan to attend more school events and practice taking photos in such situations. I really like the high-action shots, specifically… such as football games or dance performances; the situations that keep you on your toes. :)

Thank you for taking the time to read this post! If you like what you read/saw, please be sure to check out some of my other posts!

I am honored to be taking you along on my photography journey! I hope you stay safe and have a wonderful day. Much aloha!
